AWARD WINNING PROGRAM

Lake Superior Regional FRC 2015

On February 28, 2015 the Maple Grove Senior High Crimson Robotics team (FRC team 2526) won the Lake Superior Regional FIRST Robotics Competition where 63 teams competed from three states. Their win qualified them for the international FIRST Championships in St. Louis, MO on April 22-25 and Minnesota State Championship, sponsored by MN State High School League, on May 16th at the University of Minnesota. The team also won the Team Spirit Award which “celebrates extraordinary enthusiasm and spirit through exceptional partnership and teamwork furthering the objectives of FIRST.” Furthermore, Sydney Lee (junior) was a semifinalist for the FIRST Dean’s List Award and Alex Kafer (junior) advanced to becoming a Dean’s List Finalist. The Dean’s List Award, which will be awarded to only 10 students at the world championships “celebrates outstanding student leaders whose passion for and effectiveness at attaining FIRST ideals is exemplary.”
